One of the founders of the lo*kee London parties, and partner / booker at Salon zur Wilden Renate Berlin, Voigt has underground music running through his veins. As well as being a driving DJing force at his own parties, mixing up the appropriate styles depending on what guests are playing, Voigt has also branched out into production and engineering. To add to his releases on Renate Schallplatten and a collab on My Favorite Robot, he appeared on the hugely influential Visionquest label last year with a magical EP alongside Eric Volta and proved himself to be someone very much deserves the attention of real techno fans.
Peak’s origins are unknown, though it has been said he may have been raised deep in the Brokeback Mountains of East-Saxonia, but this is all mere speculation. Maturing (or not) in the club/rave scene and quickly picking up the art of DJing at the tender age of fifteen, he has made a name for himself in this urban jungle we call Berlin. The Swift was brought up by a less than normal band of carnies in southern Germany and spent his childhood in such far off places as Istanbul and Kolkata. Peak & Swift quickly melted their musical interests of house, disco and deep techno into a powerhouse sound whichs mission was banish the cold, dark, minimal sounds of that era and add much needed warmth to the city. The duo was seen ducking in and out of the shadows of Berlin’s most infamous clubs, before they finally found their home in the mysterious, Wilden Renate. Together they have helped Renate grow to the world-renowned underground mecca it has become today, boasting incredible house, techno and disco lineups on a weekly basis.
Salon zur Wilden Renate in Berlin has established itself as one of the city’s must-go-to clubs. As lovers of the underground and all things absurdist and bohemian, the club has a unique feel and dedicated following. The club as recently branched out of its original location - a maze of different rooms in a multiple story house with beer garden - to host the Else Open Air parties in the summer on the underside of the bridge that leads up to it. They now also have a booking agency - Agentur Renate- and of course Renate Schallplatten, the collective’s label, which has releases on it from artists related to the project, including dOP and Wareika, close friends of the family.
